Welcome to mountainbikerentals.com, we offer a huge range of rental / hire options for mountain bikes, touring cycles, tandem bikes, bob trailers and much more!

We have a great selection of accessories to suit the terrain and conditions which you will travel, including helmets, pannier bags, tandems, mountain bikes, touring bikes and trailers.

Our main base is in Christchurch, and we have agents in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown from which bikes can be collected and returned. A transportation or relocation fee will be incurred if a hire is one way or a bike is not available in stock at the location you require.

The mountainbikes we use are Trek andCannondale brands with full suspension and hard tails available, for cycle touring we have Cannondale andSpecialized brands.

All hires include lock, water bottle, repair kits (bike pump, spare tube, puncture repair kit and a multitool) and our free local knowledge for your intended ride.

By law in New Zealand it is compulsory to wear a helmet while riding a bicycle. We do not hire bicycle helmets so please bring your own, or you can buy a helmet from us at a discounted price of $35.

Many people like to bring along their own saddle, cycling shoes and pedals. Please inform us if you intend to do so.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve hires. Full payment is due 14 days before pickup.

"Buy back Options" are possible and more cost effective for long term visitors, you can choose the bike and accessories you would like and we will work out a price and a guaranteed buy back from you when you complete your mountain biking tour or cycle tour route at 50% of the purchase price.
Used bikes are also available on buy back, [conditions apply to buy back options]
